1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small file placed on your device when you visit a website. Cookies keep your basket, remember your preferences, measure how the site is used, and help tailor advertising. This policy also covers similar technologies: pixels, tags, local storage and advertising identifiers.

2. Your consent

Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and the UK GDPR, we may only place cookies that are not strictly necessary with your consent.

Consent must be a positive action. Continuing to browse is not consent, and doing nothing means no non-essential cookies are set. Refusing is as easy as accepting, and you can change your mind at any time.

3. The cookies we use

3.1 Strictly necessary — no consent required

Purpose Examples
Session and basket cart, _secure_session_id (Shopify)
Security, fraud prevention, load balancing _shopify_*, secure_customer_sig

Tool Provider Purpose Lifespan
Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*) Google Visitor numbers, journeys through the site 13 months

3.3 Advertising and personalisation — consent required

Meta Pixel (_fbp, fr) Meta Conversion measurement, targeting and retargeting on Facebook and Instagram 13 months
Google Ads (_gcl_*, IDE) Google Conversion tracking, remarketing 13 months
TikTok Pixel (_ttp, ttclid) TikTok Conversion measurement, advertising 13 months

3.4 Third-party content — consent required

Embedded content, WhatsApp messaging widget, sharing buttons.

[[Record the cookies actually set on your storefront — browser developer tools → Application → Cookies — and complete these tables. The names above are the usual ones for these tools; your configuration may add others.]]

4. How long

Non-essential cookies last no more than 13 months, and data collected through them no more than 25 months, after which we ask for your consent again. Your recorded choice is kept for 6 months.

5. Managing your preferences

  • On the site: through the banner shown on your first visit, or at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer.
  • In your browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge and Opera all let you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break the site — you may lose your basket or be unable to check out.

How we use the data these cookies generate is described in our Privacy Policy.

Implementation note — deal with this before launch. This page describes your practices; it does not create them. GA4, Meta Pixel, Google Ads and TikTok Pixel must be genuinely blocked until the visitor accepts. On Shopify this means the Customer Privacy API and consent mode. Test it: open the site in a private window with the Network tab open and confirm no request goes to google-analytics.com, connect.facebook.net or analytics.tiktok.com before you click Accept. "Reject all" must be as prominent as "Accept all" — the ICO and the CNIL both enforce this, and it is the most common reason for action.
